Mission Bend is nestled off the State Highway 6. Mission Bend is approximately 4 miles northwest of Sugar Land and about 20 miles southwest of Houston.

Mission Bend is a part of two counties, which are Fort Bend and Harris County. The development of Mission Bend, which straddles the border of Fort Bend and Harris counties, was founded in the year 1980.

Mission Bend had a population of almost 25,000 settlers in the 1990s. By 2000, the population had risen to more than 30,000.

Through the years, the community had several schools. Due to its proximity to major thoroughfares, sitting along Westpark Tollway Road and Highway 6, many locals commuted to Houston.
