1960 Cypress is one of Texas' older neighborhoods. Originally FM 1960, it was eventually renamed Cypress Creek Parkway.

Farmers would use this road to travel into town and sell their crops in the early 1900s. FM 1960 had only two lanes making it a minor road. It has expanded through time to become a three-lane highway with a median on both sides.

Residents have seen it develop throughout time, and it is now one of Houston's busiest neighborhoods.
