To manage the large student population, Atascocita High makes use of a “house system” where students are divided into communities (Red, White, Blue, and Gold). Each community is further divided into two houses, allowing students to attend smaller classes within their houses.

• Kingwood High School at 2701 Kingwood Dr. Attained a College Success Award - Gold for its exemplary record for making its graduates enroll and be outstanding in college. Not only that, but they have also earned a College Success Award for the years 2019 and 2021.

Atascocita North TX History

Atascocita North is part of the entire Atascocita, which consists of both the North and South. Atascocita is a large developed area situated east of Humble and northeast of Downtown. The area is located north and south of Farm Road 1960.

The construction on the land started in the 1970s. The Atascocita name was from the historic Atascocito Road presently known as FM 1960. Since the 1990s, Atascocita has been one of the fastest-growing developed neighborhoods encompassing more than 15 other communities in Houston at the time.

The unincorporated neighborhood of Atascocita had a community of 35,757 inhabitants in 2000 and was home to a variety of service and retail businesses, parishes, a community library, and a fire department.

The community was promoted among the "fastest-growing areas in the Houston area" in the 2010s. Also, in the same year, the population had doubled to 65,844 inhabitants.

Nowadays, the community bordered on the east by Lake Houston offers excellent amenities for its residents. Atascocita has parks, golf courses, and country clubs. This includes Tour 18, a recreation of some of America's most famous golf holes.
