Before it became an established community, Copperfield was a farmland. First, the land was made as a Mexican settlement in the early 19th century. Focusing on farming, it planted its roots for development as Harris County progressed.

By 1977, Copperfield started planting its borders. Under Friendswood Development, the first houses were built in 1986. In the early 2000s, the first communities in Copperfield expanded. Today, Copperfield is a master-planned community. It shines in affordable housing and urban convenience.
