The community lies about a mile and a half south of Interstate 10. Grand Parkway and Westpark Tollway/FM 1093 are east and south of Grayson Lakes, respectively. Grayson Lakes is on the east corner of Katy Flewellen Road and Gaston Road.

Made up of more than 500 homes, the neighborhood is built around a central lake, with wandering streets and cul-de-sacs. Other communities nearby include Lake Pointe Estates, Silver Ranch, Pine Mill Ranch, Westlake, Firethorne, and Pin Oak Village.

The community is divided into two sections: Grayson Lakes and Country Lakes at Grayson Lakes.

Grayson Lakes History

Grayson Lakes was established in 2003, with most homes in the area built between 2002 to 2007. Like most communities in the Greater Katy area, however, the land where the neighborhood now sits used to be sparsely populated.

The city of Katy itself saw its early development in the mid-1890s when the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad started operation. The name Katy was derived from what railroad officials used to call the line, the “KT”.

Development in the area started in earnest during the 1950s and 60s, when Houston’s post-war housing boom pushed westward. Interstate 10 was also completed during this period.

Master-planned communities started cropping up around the Greater Katy area during this period, though some residential development came later, during the 1980s and early 2000s.

 

Fun Things To Do Near Grayson Lakes

Grayson Lakes residents have plenty to do without leaving the comfort of their own neighborhood.

The community’s central lake is open to non-motorized boats like paddle boats and kayaks. Grayson Lakes’ 800-square foot recreation center, on the other hand, offers a swimming pool and a wading area for children. The community also offers tennis courts and acres of green spaces. A network of multi-use trails weaves throughout the neighborhood, along the lakes, playgrounds, and parks.

Thanks to the community’s location, Katy Mills Mall is a short drive away from Grayson Lakes homes. The mall offers a number of retail, dining, and entertainment options. The LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch is also easily accessible from the community.

For golfing enthusiasts, the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch and the Meadowbrook Farms Country Club are good options for a great round of 18.
