Nottingham Country Maps and Location

Located just off Interstate 10, Nottingham Country is one of the neighborhoods that make up Kelliwood. The community is south of Interstate 10, east of Westgreen Boulevard, west of Fry Road, and north of Highland Knolls Drive.

Several master-planned communities, including Green Trails, Windsor Park Estates, Windsor Park Lakes, Cimarron, West Memorial, and Kingsland, surround the neighborhood.

Nottingham Country is part of the Kelliwood development, spearheaded in the 1970s by Kickerillo Companies. The community is made up of 10 sections, 9 of which are under the Nottingham Country Community Improvement Association. The association is responsible for upholding covenant restrictions, maintaining common areas, and providing additional security.

Section 10 is managed by Crest Management Company.

The Energy Corridor, a major Houston employment hub, is a couple of miles east of the community. Nottingham Country homes are zoned to some of the most highly rated schools within the Katy Independent School District (KISD).

The Katy Independent School District (KISD) is one of the most highly regarded school districts in the Greater Houston area. Rated “Met Standard” by the Texas Education Agency, the KISD features several multi-award winning schools.

Among the schools serving the neighborhood, three have been named National Blue Ribbon School: Pattison Elementary, Memorial Parkway Junior High, and Taylor High School.

  • Pattison Elementary School at 19910 Stonelodge Dr. Hazel S. Pattison Elementary School was established in 1989 and was named National Blue Ribbon School in 1993-1994. It was also named a Just For Kids Honor Roll School and a SMART Elite Showcase School.
  • Nottingham Country Elementary School at 20500 Kingsland Blvd. First opened in 1981, Nottingham Country Elementary is one of the KISD’s multi-award winning schools. The school features great academics programs coupled with the use of SMART boards and mobile devices, among others.

Middle Schools

  • McMeans Junior High School at 21001 Westheimer Pkwy. Garland McMeans JH was named for a longtime KISD administrator. The school offers a variety of academics programs, including Pre-AP, gifted and talented, ESL/Bilingual, and special education.
  • Memorial Parkway Junior High School at 21203 Highland Knolls Dr. Named National Blue Ribbon School (1999-2000), Memorial Parkway Junior High was established in the early 1980s. It was rated Recognized by the TEA in 2005-2006.

High Schools

  • Taylor High School at 20700 Kingsland Blvd. James E. Taylor High was named a National Blue Ribbon School (1994-1996) and a TBEC Honor Roll School (2003). It is the second oldest KISD high school, opening in 1979. It has been given high marks (Exemplary rating) by the TEA several times.

Nottingham Country real estate is made up of about 2,500 single-family homes, most of which were built during the late 1970s through to the 1980s. Two-story homes, ranch-style homes, and bungalows are available in the area.

Most feature traditional and Colonial architecture, though some Nottingham Country homes showcase English, Contemporary, and French designs.

Nottingham Country homes typically feature 3 to 4 bedrooms, though the neighborhood’s bigger properties can offer as many as 6 beds and 4 baths. Home sizes range from 1,500 to more than 6,500 square feet.

Homes in the area tend to sit on mid- to large-sized lots (by Houston standards), between 7,000 to just over 12,000 square feet.

Nottingham Country homes are slightly older than homes in newer communities farther west, though most have been updated and beautifully maintained.

Nottingham Country Townhomes Sale Trends

There are no Nottingham Country townhomes for sale, as the community is mostly made up of single-family homes. There are plenty of townhome options available in other master-planned communities in Greater Katy, however, including Cinco Ranch Southwest and further east in Green Trails.

Nottingham Country Condo Sale Trends

There are no mid- or high-rise Nottingham Country condos at the moment. Some multi-family dwellings are available in the area however, including within the mixed use development LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.

For residential condo options, homebuyers will have check out farther east in the Energy Corridor and Memorial areas of Houston. The Galleria is a popular choice for upscale condos and luxury lofts.

Nottingham Country TX History

The Greater Katy area, now made up of subdivisions and master-planned communities, grew around the city of Katy and Houston. The area was mostly farms and cattle ranches during the 1940s.

Some communities like Cimarron and West Memorial were developed during the 1960s and 1970s, though development in the area started in earnest in the 1980s. A number of master-planned communities (Cinco Ranch, Kelliwood, and Green Trails) took root later, during the 1980s.

Kickerillo Companies developed Nottingham Country as part of the much larger Kelliwood community. In the late 1970s up until the 80s during development, the community was known as an upscale neighborhood with great communities.

Today, Nottingham Country still draws homebuyers with its beautiful brick homes and mature trees.

Fun Things To Do Near Nottingham Country

Thanks to the neighborhood’s excellent location, Nottingham Country residents are mere minutes away from entertainment and retail centers, as well as outdoor activity hubs. Though mostly residential, a number of commercial establishments are just outside the borders of the community, particularly along Interstate 10 and Fry Road. A few blocks away, more stores, restaurants, cafes, and bars can be found along Mason Road.

For more retail options, residents can take a short drive to Katy Mills Mall or Cinco Ranch’s mixed use development, the LaCenterra.

Residents don’t have to go very far to enjoy green spaces, as Rennie Park and Nottingham Country Park are both located within the community. Other community amenities include a community center, tennis courts, a playground, and a swimming pool.

For more outdoor activities, George Bush Park is easily accessible from Nottingham Park homes. Residents can enjoy the park’s many activity areas, including playgrounds, nature trails, sports fields, and even an airfield for model aircraft.
