Tamarron homes are zoned to schools from Katy Independent School District (KISD). Some areas are zoned to Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD).

The Katy Independent School District (KISD) is one of the most highly regarded school districts in Greater Houston. Rated “Met Standard” by the Texas Education Agency, the KISD features several multi-award-winning schools.

The TEA gave the Lamar Consolidated ISD (LCISD) a “Recognized.” LCISD schools serve the east sections of the Tamarron community. LCISD’s Kathleen Joerger Lindsey Elementary School opened in nearby Firethorne in 2017.

Tamarron Single-Family Home Sale Trends

Tamarron offers a variety of housing options, including lakeside and cul-de-sac homes. It is mainly made up of newly built single-family houses. Some homes are located within gated communities (such as Wellspring at Tamarron, a 55+ community).

Homes in the area were constructed between 2014 and 2017.

D.R. Horton and Express Homes offer a wide range of floor plans, from three to four bedrooms. There are one-story and two-story plans available. The sizes of the homes range from 1,300 to 2,400 square feet.

Perry Homes and Emerald Homes have the most expensive Tamarron homes. Perry Homes offers four-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 2,900 to 3,000 square feet. On the other hand, Emerald Homes provides a variety of floor plans. They range in size from 3,000 to 4,100 square feet and have 4 to 6 bedrooms.

Spacious living areas, multi-car garages, and larger lots are standard features. Formal dining rooms and gourmet kitchens are also common.

The master-planned community's architectural styles are predominantly traditional. Most houses have brick, wood, stone, or cement board exteriors.

Tamarron homes are typically built on 6,000 to 14,000-square-foot lots (by Houston standards).

Tamarron real estate prices start at around $190,000. More prestigious properties can sell for more than $430,000.

Tamarron TX History

Previously, most of the Fulshear-Greater Katy area was open prairie and rural regions. Several developments fueled the area's growth. The Westpark Tollway expansion and the completion of Interstate 10

Tamarron is one of several master-planned communities and neighborhoods in the area today.

Tamarron Lakes, the community's original name, was supposed to break ground in 2006. D.R. Horton, the country's largest home builder, took over the project and broke ground in 2015. A new parcel of land increased the project's size from 747 to 1,531 acres.

Tamarron was being built in sections. D.R. Horton is one of four builders in the neighborhood. Horton, Express Homes, Emerald Homes, and Perry Homes are some of the builders. (D.R. Horton's Express and Emerald are both brands.)

Fun Things To Do Near Tamarron Houston

Tamarron, like most master-planned communities in the Fulshear-Greater Katy area, has many amenities.

The Club at Tamarron is a 4-acre amenity center located south of Tamarron Parkway. The complex comprises a 4,700-square-foot clubhouse, a fitness center, and a resort-style pool. There is also a lap pool, splash parks, lounge areas, and playgrounds.

Along FM 1463, there are some dining and entertainment options. Specifically, the stretch between Firethorne and WoodCreek. On the other hand, retail options are just minutes away, including Katy Mills Mall and LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.

Katy Mills Mall contains approximately 1.3 million square feet of retail space and several anchor stores. Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, Old Navy, and Books-A-Million are among the retailers.

Residents can take a short drive to one of the area's many golf courses for outdoor recreation—the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, with its 18-hole, par-71 golf course and daily fee.

The community also has several lakes, sports fields, and approximately 8 miles of walking trails. Tamarron's master plan also includes about 100 acres of green space.
