Located in the Katy-Fulshear area, Tamarron is a sprawling master-planned community south of Firethorne and west of Cinco Ranch Northwest.

Tamarron is a 1,531-acre master-planned community made up of new construction homes. The community is located west of FM 1463, connected to the community via Tamarron Parkway.
The master-planned community sits directly south of Firethorne, west of Cinco Ranch Northwest and Churchill Farms. Parts of the community is within the city of Fulshear’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Built in sections, Tamarron offers a variety of homes from D.R. Horton, Emerald Homes, Express Homes, and Perry Homes. Some sections of the community are gated, including Wellspring at Tamarron, an “Active 55+ Adult Community”.
The community’s amenities are centered around The Club at Tamarron, a 4-acre amenity complex with a 4,700-square foot clubhouse, a fitness center, a resort-style pool, a lap pool, splash parks, lounge areas, and a playground.
The community’s master-plan also dedicates 100 acres for green spaces, 8 miles of walking trails, lakes, and sports fields.
Nestled in the area south of Interstate 10 (Katy Freeway) and FM 1093/Westpark Tollway expansion, Tamarron homes have great access to key districts including the Energy Corridor, Westchase District, and Memorial City.
For retail, dining and entertainment, residents can take a short drive to Katy Mills Mall (about 5 miles away) and LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch (6 miles away). The Shops at Bella Terra is also a few minutes away.

Tamarron homes are zoned to schools from both the Katy Independent School District (KISD) and the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD).
The Katy Independent School District (KISD) is one of the most highly regarded school districts in the Greater Houston area. Rated “Met Standard” by the Texas Education Agency, the KISD features several multi-award winning schools.
The Lamar Consolidated ISD (LCISD) was given a “Recognized” by the TEA. LCISD schools serve the east sections of the Tamarron community. LCISD’s Kathleen Joerger Lindsey Elementary School opened in nearby Firethorne in 2017.

Made up of new construction single-family homes, Tamarron features a variety of options from lakeside homes to cul-de-sac homes. Some homes are nestled within gated sections (including Wellspring at Tamarron, a 55+ community).
Homes in the area are built between 2014 and 2017.
D.R. Horton and Express Homes offer a wide variety of floor plans, ranging from 3 to 4 bedroom options. Both one- and two-story plans are available. Home sizes range from 1,300 to 2,400 square feet.
The most expensive Tamarron homes are from Perry Homes and Emerald Homes. Perry Homes offer 4-bedroom floor plans with 2,900 to 3,000 square feet of living space. Emerald Homes, on the other hand, offer several floor plans ranging from 4 to 6 bedroom options spread over 3,000 to over 4,100 square feet.
Spacious living spaces, multi-car garages, larger lots, formal dining areas, and gourmet kitchens are common features.
Architectural styles in the master-planned community are mostly traditional with brick and wood, stone, and cement board exteriors.
Tamarron homes typically sit mid-sized lots (by Houston standards), ranging from 6,000 to over 14,000 square feet.
Prices for Tamarron homes for sale start at around $190,000. Bigger properties can sell for over $430,000.
There are no Tamarron townhomes for sale, as the community is mostly made up of single-family homes and patio homes. There are some townhome options available in nearby master-planned communities like Cinco Ranch Southwest and Cross Creek Ranch. Green Trails, located east of Grand Parkway, also offers a few units.
There are no mid- or high-rise Tamarron condos available, though there are some multi-family homes are available within the mixed use development LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.
For residential condo options, homebuyers will have check out farther east in the Energy Corridor and Memorial areas of Houston. For upscale condos and luxury lofts, the Galleria offers a host of options.

Most of the Fulshear-Greater Katy area was previously open prairie and rural areas. Several developments, including the expansion of Westpark Tollway and the completion of Interstate 10, sparked growth in the area.
Today, the area features several master-planned communities and neighborhoods including Tamarron.
Originally known as Tamarron Lakes, the community was first slated to break ground in 2006. D.R. Horton, the largest home builder in the country, picked up the development and broke ground sometime in 2015. An additional parcel of land expanded the project from 747 acres to 1,531 acres.
Sections of Tamarron are currently under construction. Four builders offer homes in the community, including D.R. Horton, Express Homes, Emerald Homes, and Perry Homes. (Express and Emerald are both D.R. Horton brands.)
Upon completion, the community will feature 4,000 homes.
Like most master-planned communities in the Fulshear-Greater Katy area, Tamarron offers a variety of amenities.
The Club at Tamarron, the community’s amenity center, covers a 4-acre area south of Tamarron Parkway. The complex features a 4,700-square foot clubhouse, a fitness center, a resort-style pool, a lap pool, splash parks, lounge areas, and a playground.
The community also features a number of lakes, sports fields, and around 8 miles of walking trails. Tamarron’s master plan also sets aside around 100 acres of green space.
There are some dining and entertainment options located along FM 1463 (particularly the stretch along Firethorne and WoodCreek). Retail options, on the other hand, are minutes away, including Katy Mills Mall and LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.
Katy Mills Mall features around 1.3 million square feet of retail space and has several anchor stores (Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, Old Navy, and Books-A-Million, among others).
For outdoor entertainment, residents can take a short drive to the area’s many golf courses, including The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, with its daily fee 18-hole, par-71 golf course.
