Lake Pointe TX History

The history of Lake Pointe, Sugar Land, can be traced back to the early 1900s when the area was known as Lakeview. The name was changed to Lake Pointe in 1979 when the Lake Pointe office complex was built. The complex is located on a peninsula that juts into Lake Houston, and the name "Lake Pointe" reflects the complex's location on the lake.

The early history of Lake Pointe is largely agricultural. The land was originally owned by a number of different families, who used it to grow crops and raise livestock. The area was first developed as a residential community in the early 1900s. A number of homes were built, and the area became known as Lakeview.

In the 1970s, the area began to develop as a commercial and industrial center. The Lake Pointe office complex was built in 1979, and it soon became home to a number of large companies. The complex also helped to attract other businesses to the area, and Lake Pointe began to grow rapidly.
