Lakes at Creekside is a neighborhood that J. Alan Kent Construction newly develops. It stands on the land of Tomball, a city northwest of Houston. The land is known for its open and fertile soil, which attracted settlers in the early nineteenth century.

Early sources of livelihood in the area revolved around farming and raising cattle. Later on, the discovery of the Tomball Oil Field and the construction of the railroad system led to the city's economic rise.

Tomball was previously called the community of Peck until it was renamed after local congressman Thomas Henry Ball in 1907.
