Headquartered in Hedwig Village, the Spring Branch ISD is a highly rated school district with a number of National Blue Ribbon Schools. Frostwood Elementary, Memorial Middle, and Memorial High School have received multiple awards.

Memorial Green TX History

The Memorial Green project started in 2014, when Midway acquired the 14-acre vacant property along Memorial Drive. Houston-based Midway is also the developer behind CityCentre, a mixed-use development just a mile away from the site.

Midway’s original master-plan included luxury apartments, a 4-story office building, and 57 luxury homes. The developer revised their plans in 2015, opting instead for more single-family homes, boutique office spaces, and ground-level retail.

Prior to the luxury development, the area used to be a senior living facility. The land stayed vacant for 15 years after the facility was demolished.

Fun Things To Do Near Memorial Green Houston

As a mixed use development, Memorial Green offers retail and dining located just outside the gated residential community. Early tenants to the development’s 25,000-square foot leasable retail space include Minuti Coffee, Dish Society, and Vine Wine Room.

Located just across the street from Memorial Green, Lantern Lane is a shopping mall with over 80,000 square feet of space. Its anchors include Total Wine and CVS. Other popular destinations within the retail center include The Union Kitchen and Starbucks.

Other retail centers in the area include the CityCentre Plaza, Memorial City Mall, and Town & Country Village.
