• Saint Francis Episcopal Day School at 335 Piney Point Road. SFEDS is the largest Toddlers to 8 Episcopal parish day school in the country. Saint Francis is also recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.

• Cecilia Catholic School at 11740 Joan of Arc Drive. Located in Hedwig Village, SCS is a non-profit, coeducational school. It is nestled within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. The school’s curriculum centers on six core subjects. It includes Theology, Mathematics, Sciences, Social Sciences, Literature, and English.

• The Kinkaid School at 201 Kinkaid School Drive. Kinkaid is one of the most prestigious private schools in the Houston area. It was originally located in Houston but later moved to a bigger campus in Piney Point Village.

Rivercrest TX History

Established in 1946, Rivercrest has approximately 400 acres of land with 95 estates. The neighborhood became part of the City of Houston in the early 1950s.

The first property owners in the area wanted to be able to keep their horses, a tradition that is maintained up to this day. The neighborhood itself follows a horseshoe shape, with Westheimer Road to its south, curving upwards to Briar Forest Drive to its north.

Deed restrictions were established in 1946 to maintain the look and feel of the neighborhood. The limits implemented were a minimum of 3 acres per property and homes set back at least 100 feet from the street. While some of the original homes have been torn down to make way for new construction, subdividing is still not allowed in the neighborhood.

Residents of Rivercrest homes have convenient access to Houston's finest shops, restaurants, and entertainment centers. Included are the upscale Galleria, Memorial City Mall, and CityCentre.
