The neighborhood lies right across Rice University, bordered by Rice Boulevard to the south, Bissonnet Street to the north, Greenbriar Drive to the west, and Ashby Street to the east.

Southampton Place is just a few minutes from the Texas Medical Center, Museum District, Hermann Park, and Downtown Houston.
