Guide To Spring Branch Houston Homes
Spring Branch Houston is within Harris County and is bordered by the 610 Loop to the east, Interstate 10 to the south, Beltway 8 to the west, and Hempstead Road to the north.
The diversity of land use in Spring Branch makes it a great area of choice for a variety of home buyers. There are classic suburbs like Timber Creek, and the more intricate subdivisions such as Binglewood and Holley Terrace.
Spring Branch has a history older than Houston. In 1830, a German immigrant named Karl Kolbe built a log cabin along a small stream flowing to Buffalo Bayou. Its name was derived from the natural spring-fed stream in the heart of the area.
Smaller bayous such as the Brickhouse Gully and Briar Branch run through the entire community. Long Point Road, one of the oldest roads in Houston, runs from east to west of the neighborhood.
The community is undergoing revitalization as spearheaded by the Spring Branch Management District, with the aim of making the area more appealing to people who wish to establish roots and grow within the neighborhood.
As part of this revitalization, many of the wooded lots are being developed into mixed-use properties. Older Spring Branch apartments are also being torn down to make way for permanent housing options.
This is one of the many reasons patio homes and townhomes are gaining popularity in Spring Branch.
