Treasure Island TX History


Treasure Island began in 1528 as part of Cabeza de Vaca's exploration of the San Luis Peninsula. Early settlers lived there for many years until it was developed into a shipyard by 1840 by John Follett.

Over time, it was further developed and the peninsula connected with the mainland. Forming the early municipal district by Time Wealth Corporation known as Treasure Island.

From 1970s to 1992, residents of Treasure Island developed the community. They have built shops, districts, and many known landmarks.

Today, Treasure Island is filled with diverse residents. They still hold tradition and have kept their legacy from their roots.
