Aldine Area TX History


Aldine Area is a CDP along the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston. It is in the International-Great Northern Railroad.

The name Aldine comes from a small farming family. In the 1990s, Aldine Area was little more than a farming community. There were two general stores, a fig preserver, poultry, and a dairy farm. The population began to increase in 1925. Around 1935, the population declined by 50%.

When Aldine Independent School District emerged, the population increased. Throughout the years, the population grew as well as the economy.
